Prices for a cakelava custom designed wedding cake vary based on artistry and complexity of design. We will gladly quote a price for a wedding cake once we discuss the custom design details with you.

Delivery is available on Oahu only and prices include delivery and setup of cake. We do not guarantee the safety of any cakes that we do not deliver.  Cakes may be picked up at our Kailua studio if we are not at an event, and the time must be arranged in advance.

$40 - Honolulu, Waikiki, Kahala, Hawaii Kai, Kaneohe, Kaneohe, Kualoa, Aiea, Pearl City, Mililani
$60 - Ewa, Lanikuhonua, Ko Olina
$100 North Shore, Waianae, Makaha

We strongly suggest that you place your order at least 6 months in advance for wedding cakes as dates book up fast! We are presently taking orders through 2010. To place an order for a wedding cake, please call (808) 263-2868 or email us at cakelava@hawaii.rr.com to get started.


Retainer

As a retainer, an estimated 50% of your balance is due when you place your wedding cake order. This secures your wedding date and time with us and is non-refundable and non-transferable. We accept checks and cash only. The amount is based on the proposed cake design price per serving. All retainers must arrive within 3 days of the order being placed for Hawaii residents or 1 week for mainland residents or the requested date and time is released for other clients. The full balance is due and collectable 3 weeks prior to your event date.  Wedding cake orders placed less than a month in advance are considered a rush order and full payment is required at the time of the order.

Cake Tastings

Cake tastings are available upon request for wedding cakes only and require at least 1 week’s advance notice. There is a $40 cash fee to sample any 3 flavors from the menu.  If our services are booked at or before our scheduled appointment, the tasting will be complimentary. Please arrive on time. Appointments are often booked back-to-back and we only wait for 15 MINUTES past the scheduled appointment time, before you will need to reschedule.  We require 48 hours cancellation notice for tastings otherwise there is a $40 for the cost of the tasting. 

cakelava offers a Free 1-Year Anniversary cake with a wedding cake order of 75 servings or more.  The anniversary cake must be ordered *at least* 2 weeks in advance of your 1-year anniversary date and may be scheduled for pick-up as late as 1 WEEK after the anniversary date.   There are no exceptions. This offer is good for couples living on Oahu or visiting during their 1-year anniversary date. As our gift to the couple, we will make a white buttercream 6” round cake with “Happy Anniversary” at no charge.  We do not include Rainbowlicious or any flavor with an additional charge.  Anniversary cakes must be picked up at our studio.

celebration cakes

Prices for custom designed birthday and celebration cakes, excluding sculpted cakes vary based on size, decoration and specialty artwork involved.  Sculpted cakes are priced by the project rather than the serving. Please call or email for a price quote.

We strongly suggest ordering your celebration cake as early as possible, as we also design cakes for weddings, which are usually booked well in advance, and we may not have the date available.

I just had to eamil you to thank you so much for such an AWESOME cake. I kind of had an idea of what the cake would look like, but it's a completely different story when you see it in person.  The Chinese takeout box cake was SO realistic and still just a bit cartoony!! My mom LOVED the cake and so did everyone at the party.  For those that couldn't attend I snapped a few pictures with my cell phone and sent them a picture. It wasn't until they read the message that they realized they were looking at a cake! Some of them thought it was an actual order of noodles! It was an awesome cake and tasted just as yummy as it looked!! Oh my gosh the cake was absolutely amazing, everyone was totally astonished!  It was the best thing about the party.  The father didn't want to cut it, he loved it sooo much.  He ended up not cutting it at the party, they had another shower in the evening he cut half of one glove and almost cried. We ordered a cake from Rick and Sasha for one of our great friend's belated birthday party. Because everything was last minute, they promised us a 'surprise design'. Patton and I just got back from our honeymoon and I've been dying to give you some very well deserved feedback on our absolutely amazing cake....inside and out!  It was beautiful - it had such a classy and fun feel all wrapped up into one cake.  Our guests were blown away....and so were we!  No one had ever seen anything quite like it.  And the surprise factor for Patton and I both was great!  I would recommend to anyone to give Rick free reign of their cake design!  And the contrast of black and white was perfect with the rainbowlishious flavoring.  As soon as we cut the cake and the vibrant coloring of the rainbowlishious flavoring was noticed the cake was pretty much gone after that. It has been an absolute pleasure communicating throughout the wedding process with you and I hope for it to continue.  Thank you so much for your amazing work - you have gone above and beyond my expectations (which were pretty high to start with :)  You truly are the best in the industry and I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to have you as a part of our wedding.
